Chris Thoreau started growing microgreens at home in 1999 and commercially in 2006. In 2008 he founded My Urban Farm which incorporated into the The Vancouver Food Pedalers Cooperative in 2013. The Food Pedalers grew a wide range of microgreens which they delivered throughout Vancouver by bicycle.

Through his time with the Food Pedalers Chris developed multiple production systems which he now shares with others through his online microgreens courses. In 2019, he released one of the World’s first microgreens crop planners which has acted as the prototype for SeedLeaf.

Chris holds a BSc. in Agroecology and is a professional agrologist in British Columbia, Canada.

But it’s not all about microgreens! Chris also produces vegetable seed and grows wide range of crops in his home garden. When he’s not growing food, you can often find Chris running on the North Shore’s mountain trails.
